Professional Development Day for Staff and Community
Magnetic Island State School will this year be involved in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.
Since 2008, Queensland schools have been participating in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program.
The aim of the program is to introduce pleasurable food education which emphasises the flavours as well as the health benefits of fresh, seasonal food into as many Australian primary schools as possible.
Schools have flexibility in how they deliver the Kitchen Garden program, you can check out information about the program by looking up the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden website.
We will be opening the garden on Tuesday and Thursday at lunchtimes. Please feel free to join the children and staff with this program, any help with planting/weeding/cooking would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to seeing you.
Thank you also to the Magnetic Island P&C for organising such a fantastic professional development day for the staff and community. We cooked lunch together and enjoyed a wonderful meal!.
