Year 6 set off on camp and caught the 7:45am ferry to Townsville on the 16th October. Once we arrived, we met Michael from Outer Limits and caught the bus to the top of Castle Hill. When we got there, we put our abseiling equipment on and went up onto the edge of Castle Hill. We put ourselves out of our comfort zones by abseiling of the edge for what felt like 10m. Then we caught the bus to Paluma which took about two hours because of the road work. As we got higher it got a lot more foggy and colder. After we set up camp, we then completed the high ropes course, rock climbing, leap of faith, and the giant swing. We finished the day by making our own pizzas. On day two we woke up early had breakfast, then we got the bikes ready and went on a ride. After we rode out, we hiked to a waterfall and had a swim – it was freezing! Then the group rode back to camp and had burgers for lunch. After lunch we caught the bus to the dam and collected our kayaks. Once out on the water we played a game called Sharks and Seals. After we got used to paddling, we paddled across the dam and went on a rope swing. We finished the day with Butter Chicken for dinner and games of Spotlight. On our last day we woke up, packed up camp and ate pancakes. Then we hiked in the rainforest and through the town to the park and played some games which were Finding Nemo and Red, Red Rover. We finished with a sausage sizzle and got back on the bus to head back to Magnetic Island. We all had a fantastic time at camp and have had many stories to tell! Thank you to our P&C, Outer Limits, Mr Hammelswang and Miss Sophie. By Barnie and Matilda, Yr 6
