The Wetland Warriors took part in an extra session to be involved in the Great Aussie Bird Count on Thursday of week 3, which is a week-long event from the 20th to the 26th of October. We boarded the bus to Cockle Bay, where we were welcomed to country by a digeridoo performance. Where we split into four three-person groups for our first twenty-minute birdwatching session. We saw species such as ravens, currawongs, egrets and friarbirds. After that, we travelled on the bus to Geoffrey Bay, where we had morning tea and split back into our groups for anoth-er birdwatching session, where we saw ravens, masked lapwings, and there were also black cockatoos there. We filled in all of our paperwork before going back to school.
