This week is CBCA Book Week, a celebration of books and reading that has been run in Australia since 1945. We love celebrating Book Week here at Magnetic Island State School and we want to keep you informed about some of the activities:
Book Fair
The Book Fair is an opportunity to purchase books with a per-centage of the sales going towards new books for our library. Sales will start on Monday 23rd August at 8am and finish on Fri-day at 2.30pm. This week, your child will have the opportunity to browse the selection and complete a wish list to bring home. Purchases need to be made online as follows:
• Make the payment at www.scholastic.com.au/payment
• Record the amount paid and the 8 digit receipt number
• Email receipt details to info@magneticislandss.eq.edu.au with your child's name and list of titles bought
• Books will be given out on a first in first out basis. Reorders can take up to 2 weeks
Unfortunately limited space means that adults can not visit the Book Fair.
Book Week Parade
On Friday 27th August, children have the opportunity to dress up as their favourite book character. This year's theme is “New Worlds, Old Worlds, Other Worlds". The parade will be held at 8.30am in the undercover area, and parents and family are welcome to attend. Please ensure you are keeping physically distanced, washing your hands regularly and please do not attend if you are feeling unwell.
