Year 3 -6 Netball practice
We have had a fabulous
response to the Term 4 Magnetic Island Netball Tournament, with over 50
students from Years 3 to 6 keen to join a team and take part. Most of these
students spent each Thursday, throughout the second half of term 3, practising
netball skills and get-ting to know their teammates, and now the tournament is
well underway. The main purpose of the tournament is to allow students to learn
the rules and skills of netball in a fun, competitive environment. Mrs Wilson
is super impressed with the skills being demonstrated, and more importantly,
the fantastic cooperation and sportsmanship shown at each game.
A huge shout out to the
Year 5 & 6 students who have been assisting with games and helping other
students learn the rules and ‘have a go’. These students have demonstrated
patience, leadership and responsibility, whilst the students who are still
learning, through playing the game, have shown courage, resilience, respect and
active listening.
Each team have now played,
and we are recording their scores, so that we can have finals later in the
term. With many more games to be played before determining the finalists, all
team members have more opportunities to refine their skills and master the
game. And of course…it is great fitness and super fun!
