Eisteddfod Winners

Eisteddfod Winners 2018
I had the privilege of accompanying both the school choir and the concert band to the Eisteddfod over the last couple of days. The choir, only formed in term four last year (in only their third performance) achieved a third place and a ‘Highly Commended’. The adjudicator commented about the “beautiful voices” and “beautiful use of dynamics”. He said that our choir was “most impressive”. They had a great time and were excellently behaved while representing our school.
Our concert band performed beautifully and was awarded a well-deserved first place. The adjudicator said that he was “impressed with the breath control displayed, especially the solo flute and the wonderful solo clarinet”. He also commented on the choice of their music and their rich, full sound. We were also one of the biggest bands (and the smallest school represented). Our score was a whopping 94. Congratulations to all of the solo performers that have already participated in the Eisteddfod (Reef, Esther, Hannah-Rose, Jasmine, Annalise and Izzy) and good luck to all of our dancing students who will be performing in the coming weeks. The dancers will be performing at our performance parade at the hanger on Friday afternoon if you would like to attend.
